White River Lake, Construction of White River Lake by the cities of Crosbyton, Ralls, Post, and Spur was completed in 1963, primarily as a long-range and adequate water supply.

Opened to the public in 1965, the Lake is 22 miles southeast of Crosbyton, 12 miles west of Spur and 31 miles northeast of Post.

There are also Carp, various types of perch in White River Lake

Basic Rules and Regulations:

Recreation permit required of any person 12 years or older using the facilities of the White River Lake. $6/person/day.  Annual Family Pass - $50.
Camping in marked camping areas only. Camping permit is required. $6/tent/night.
Boat permit required. $6/boat/day.  Annual Boat Pass - $50.
Trotlines or jug fishing not permitted in White River Lake.
Bag and possession must conform to State Laws.
It shall be unlawful to use any game fish or fresh water rough fish, including gold fish as bait in White River Lake.
Water Skiing permitted in designated areas only.
Scuba diving is not permitted in White River Lake.
All persons on lake must wear a life preserver.
All motor driven vehicles shall be driven on main roads only.
Leash law enforced on pets.
No horse back riding allowed.
NOTE: Two boat ramps on EAST side are open.
